Carol
Yankovich is awarded the Order of the Golden Microscope. This is the highest
honor bestowed by AMT for outstanding organizational and professional
contributions in the field of medical technology and to AMT. Recognizing
consistent superior performance throughout the years.
Carol Yankovich, MT from Ridgeway, PA was certified in 1961. She is
Executive Councilor and on the national board of directors. She is a
past secretary of the Pennsylvania state society and is a current member of
the board of directors. She has also served on numerous national and
state committees.
Honors include the Distinguished Achievement,
Exceptional
Merit, Becky Award, and Pilar. At the state level, she was honored as
Pennsylvania Technologist of the Year, and Outstanding Member of the Year.
She also received the DC/Deleware/Maryland Appreciation Award.
Ms. Yankovich earned an Associate Degree in Medical Technology from
Carnegie College. She was Clinical Laboratory Director at a
Pennsylvania hospital laboratory and is now retired after a 41-year career.
She served the North Central Chapter of Medical Technicians, (president,
vice president, and secretary), and has been an educational consultant for
MT Today magazine. She is active in the Technical Preparation
Career Center Program at the St. Mary's Area High School; is chairperson of
the Health Related Technology Occupational Advisory Committee; and a lector
at St. Leo's Catholic Church.
